  • ARDS, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, sudden lung condition that happens when the lungs become badly inflamed and fill with fluid, making it very hard for oxygen to get into the bloodstream.

  • ARDS, according to recent studies, is known for its’ high mortality rate, ranging from 35% to 46%.

  • Several risk factors increase the likelihood of developing ARDS, including sepsis, pneumonia, trauma, aspiration, and major surgery.
